Lady Gaga Performs new song at Melbourne Born This Way Ball 27/06/12.

On Wednesday night I went to Lady Gaga's Born This Way Ball in Melbourne.
For the first time ever Gaga played a new song called "Princess Die." Said to be some of her inner most thoughts, the song was heartbreakingly beautiful and had me in tears.

Take a look!

Last Tango In Paris.

 I am wearing...
Jumper: Dangerfield. | Necklace: Europe. | Skirt: vintage shop on Brunswick Street. | Tights: Coles. | Boots: Asos.

I picked this skirt up in a little vintage store on Brunswick Street a while back. It was only an elastic waist skirt, but I became obsessed with the print upon further inspection, finding that it featured the Eiffel Tower!
I completely forgot about it until I was cleaning out my wardrobe the other day and found it hidden beneath various other items.
Obviously I wore it the very next time I went out!

Heading into the winter months here in Australia, I have been needing to rug up more and more. I got this Dangerfield jumper the other day, and I haven't taken it off since.
And to finish off the look I threw on a simple gold chain that actually came with a pendant that I got from a store in Europe a couple of years ago.

What hidden gems have you forgotten about in your wardrobe then found at a later date??

Style on,
Tori

My life in Instagram; June edition.

1. My 12 year old brother Alex | 2. Susie Bubble of the blog "Style Bubble" talking with head of fashion at RMIT | 3. Necklace from Asos | 4. Kate and I at a friends house | 5. Shoes on Smith Street | 6. Wildfox X Jeffrey Campbell Ballet Platforms | 7. Kate's tuxedo nails done by yours truly | 8. My floral print pant draw | 9. New bone shoes | 10. View over Smith street | 11. My iPhone cover | 12. Morning tea and book.

Just a few images of my life via Instagram over the last month or so.
I have been on holidays from uni and started a new job, which is located on Smith Street.
One of my favorite things to do over the last couple of weeks has been walk around and explore the street and little coffee shops before work in the mornings.
My bus gets in half an hour before I start, so I have the time to wander, however it is getting harder with the winter cold starting to kick in!
Recently I have been reading Oscar Wilde's "The Picture of Dorian Gray", so I tend to try and get out of the cold, order some peppermint tea, and read my book for 20 minutes or so.

At the moment I am in the middle of cleaning out my closet, I have found that I have had to create a whole floral/patterned pant draw as I have so many. I have a problem.
I also covered my phone case in Harry Potter stickers, found them in a discount store after work one day, and the lovely, and oh so very very cute, guy behind the counter gave them to me half price!

ALSO! I went and saw Rock of Ages at the movies the other night!
I know it has been panned by critics, but I really enjoyed it! I mean, it wasn't a master piece, it was an easy, fun watch.

(Seriously, it had me wanting to go back to 1980's LA rock scene, get a rookie rocker boyfriend and become a stripper.)

I thought everyones performances were great, stand outs being Russell Brand, Cathy Z, Mary J, Diego Boneta, and of course, Tom Cruise! I know, shocker. I thought he was fab though, and he can sing (and had a sort of charisma about him that I am ashamed to admit - I would go there)!
I feel bad singling them all out, as I thought everyone was great - with the exception of Alec Baldwin. Him I just wasn't impressed with.

And the music was great, loved it. I had to download it the next day as I had them in my head.
Highlights for me had to be the musical numbers "Any Way You Want It", "Dead or Alive", "Hit Me With Your Best Shot", "We Built This City/We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I Want To Know What Love Is".

AND OF COURSE Diego Boneta.
One of those times you come out of the movie slightly depressed because you have slightly fallen in love with the leading man. He was just so beautiful.

Anyway, Go see this film if you just want a good time that you don't have to think too much about.

Stay Classy,
Tori

May the odds be ever in your blazer.

You can thank my friend Kate for that heading.

I am wearing...
Blazer: Sportsgirl. | Top: Tee And Cake via Topshop. | Pants: Glassons. | Necklace: Asos. | Shoes: Rubi.

I wore this outfit out for dinner the other night with my school friends. It was obviously before I got my hair done, I have just been avoiding doing this post as I was disappointed with the image quality, it was uploading weirdly.

You can see me here poking fun at the fact I have an underwater scenery on my top by re-enacting swimming movements. I am too cool.

I am about to go clean out my wardrobe now. Lord knows it needs it.

Keep on kicking,
Tori

Change is in the hair.

So guys, I did something a little drastic, well drastic for me....

I cut and coloured my hair!

This is a big thing for me as I have pretty much never done anything to my hair after a couple of bad haircuts, and I am too impatient to have to wait and fix my hair/grow it out if anything goes wrong.

I originally was going to dye the whole thing lilac. I was so set on it, I even photoshopped images of my face with purple hair and went and tried on a lilac wig at a costume shop. I know, I am a loser and pedantic.
But after much anxiety over it the night before, I got to the salon and they did not have the dye. So I settled for the "ombre" style in stead. I know, jumping on the bandwagon much? Kinda disappointed in myself, but I have wanted to do it for ages and I am planning on dying it many different colours.

Mum has always wanted me to get a fringe, and after much resistance, I gave in. I actually kinda like it, it's just that it is going to be a bitch to maintain.

Hope your week has been grand! Also, excuse my Pj's in the second photo.

Peace and pout out readers!

June Wishlist.

Top: Truly madly deeply shroom muscle top - Urban Outfitters. | Asos March Leather Brouges - Asos. | Piers Atkinson for Asos cartoon eyes pom pom beanie - Asos | We Who See Knot wedge - Urban Outfitters. | Oversized sleeveless biker jacket - Topshop. | Metallic silver shopper - Topshop. | Lace Peter Pan dress in lilac - Topshop. | Flower & Jewel drop earrings - Asos.

So here is a peak of my June wish list, hint, dad.
As you can see I am still lusting after the pale neon yellows.
Absolutely in love with the hawaiian print wedge from Urban Outfitters - I love me a tropical print.

I am thinking, and planning to, dye my hair lilac in the coming weeks, and I keep imagining dressing in a lilac dress to match my new locks, and this one fits the bill perfectly.

I also started a new job the other day! It is doing a bit of online research and it is some good experience. The office is on Smith Street, so I am enjoying exploring the little alleys, cafes and vintage stores!
As I am planning to go away next year, you can understand how the location is not helping my saving efforts!

What are you lusting after this June?

Girls.

If you have not watched HBO's new show "Girls", and even more so if you have and you didn't like it, you are dead to me. Really, please cease talking to me.

I kid, but I strongly advise that you re-evaluate your life.

Anyway it pretty much is about a group of girls (oh wow, there's the show name) living in my favorite place ever, New York, and about their struggles with themselves, life and relationships.
Kinda like Sex & The City but younger and more relatable.

Anyway, I came across these cut out paper dolls of the characters by Vulture on the internet and thought I would share with you all!

How fab are they? I know what I'm doing with my week...

Working Girl.

So the other day I started a new job that will pretty much run all day, everyday, from 9am till 4pm on weekdays. Say "day" one more time.

Anyway, this gave me an excuse to breakout my new silver jumper and floral pants for the occasion.

I will apologise for two things; 1. The crappy photo webcam quality. And 2. It's not a proper full length photo, soz.

Anyway, the jumper was purchased from Jayjay's on sale for $20, hold for gasps of shock, and the pants are from Dotti.
I was very surprised with these two pieces as I do not normally shop in either of those stores.

Can I just note the satisfaction I felt when I purchased my discounted jumper and then found one EXACTLY the same from the store Glue for over $100? Boo. Yah.

I have a DIY in the works for y'all in the coming days to make up for my lack of posts.
I am a bad blogger.

I think I really need to work on a signing out line - Tori.

MTV Moo-whovie Awards.

My friend last night asked me if I was going to do a post on the red carpet fashion of the MTV Movie Awards as I always surprise her and don't post about award show fashions when she thinks I will.

So here I am proving her wrong.

I only caught a bit of the show as I was busy doing some work, but still have it recorded to watch later.

So here is a list of my best and worst dressed!

The Best

Julia Jones
Julia Jones, I do not know who you are or why you are at the awards, but my god I am glad you are as this outfit is fierce!
The neon yellow is so on trend and I looooove the laser cut detail. I love how she kept it simple in the accessories front.
I actually came across this image on Perez Hilton's "worst dressed", which I think is ridiculous as it was the standout outfit for me. I am sure other bloggers will agree, as lets face it, with some of the people he put in his "best dressed" I think he is going delusional.

Emma Stone.
I love Emma Stone. She is just flawless. A very classic look, yet still unique and fashion forward with the folds and such.

Elizabeth Banks.

When I first saw a picture of her outfit I was all "Hm, a jumpsuit. interesting." HOWEVER, once watching a bit of the show and seeing her get her award I thought she looked fierce.
One of those pieces that photographs alright, but looks amazing in motion.
Her body looked rockin' in it!

Nikki Reed.

How very Gatsby of her! I like this look. She looks great. I love a bit of gold. Would love to see this dress in real life!

Ezra Miller

The "We Need To Talk About Kevin" and "The Perks of Being A Wall Flower" star stayed true to his folky and unique style at the awards.
Apart from carrying around what looked like a giant, floating Poké Ball and those shoes, I dug the look.
I like the patterned scarf and the prayer beads. Just a bit different from the usual suit and tie, y'know?
Oh who am I kidding? Maybe one of the main reasons he's here is because he's Ezra Miller.

THE WORST.

Looking at most of these outfits just makes me angry...

Brooke Hogan.

Why is she even at the awards? I didn't even know she was relevant anymore. Maybe it was in her contract from when she had her reality show that she would be invited to these things so many years later.
But seriously, If you get a chance to come out of hiding to make an appearance - at least make it a good one!  This just looks trashy.
I don't even want to talk about it anymore.

Crystal Reed.

GURL, what have you got on your feet?! Take them off NOW.
I get you are trying to be all "edgy", but with this look? No. Just no.
A pair of nude pumps would have suited this look well. These ankle boots just make her legs look stumpy.

Leighton Meester.

I so often find myself confused by what Miss Meester often wears.
I mean, YOU PLAY BLAIR ON ON GOSSIP GIRL, you would think you would pick up a few fashion pointers from it over the years.
There is just something not legit about this look, like - you are trying way too hard.
This is just too casual, you look like you are going to the beach.

Mila Kunis.

I don't know what it is that I don't like about this look - I just know I hate it.
Is she pregnant? Not that she looks pregnant, her bod is amazing, just something about the pattern makes it look so.

Victoria Justice.

I know girls in year 8 who dress better than this. Enough said.
But seriously - I am so confused as to why she has made some of the best dressed lists - it is just so safe and boring. It looks like something girls I know would have worn in 2007 when we had parties with boys for the first time.
This was on Perez Hiltons "best dressed",  just, ugh. No Perez, No.

Woah, I feel really angry after looking at those worst dressed outfits.
OH I KNOW WHAT WILL FIX IT...

Here's a picture of Diego Boneta who is starring in the upcoming Rock of Ages film.
Now, breathe in.... and out... okay all better now.

Anyway, I am looking forward to some feedback from you.

Who were your best and worst dressed?

We own the night.

Sportsgirl has announced that The Hills and The City star, Whitney Port, will be releasing a cheaper alternative to her main line, Whitney Eve, entitled "WE"to Sportsgirl this year.

I wasn't a big Hills fan, but did catch a glimpse of The City here and there and I was in luuuuurve with her line she created during the show. So it goes without saying that I am stoked for this collab.
